A Solo Exhibition Ouresis Todorovich (Uros T. Todorovic)
Dr Vassilis Adrahtas, along with Associate Professor Ouresis Todorovich (University of Macau), present a solo exhibition of the latter which envisions the relationship of acclaimed writer Nikos Kazantzakis with a number of spiritual/intellectual figures. The fitting title Aniontes is an Ancient Greek word which translates to "the ascending ones"; a word quoted from the beginning of the 5th chapter of Mystical Theology by the great Byzantine mystic known pseudonymously as "Dionysius the Areopagite". This event is organised by the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (Sydney Branch) with the aim to visualise the insights of Kazantzakis’ ascending movement towards what he regarded as the great secret of life. Ultimately, the exhibition becomes a contemplative intercultural space that draws connections between already known information but also appreciates afresh ideas and cultures.
