The book narrates the experience of immigration and the socio-economic, cultural and political organization of over 60,000 Arcadians who settled in Australia from 1953 to 1980. It records the stony years of exodus from their ancestral lands, the painful initial awareness of a culturally unknown industrial environment, the sacrifices, the bold commitments and the achievements of those who worked so hard and persevered in sustaining the values of their homeland. Their children and grandchildren will cherish this publication as a memorial to their forebears’ legacy and a lasting gift of love in their memory (κτήμα ες αεί).
