Hellenic Art Theatre presents a prophetic comedy about wealth, greed, and the disparity between rich and poor. Not much has changed in the past 2500 years!
After visiting the Oracle of Delphi, Chremylos returns home with a blind old man, forced on him by Apollo. With the help of his slave, he discovers that the man is none other than Ploutos, God of Wealth, who after losing his eyesight had not been distributing riches to the deserving and virtuous. He seeks the help of Asclepius to restore the god’s sight, much to the opposition of Penia the Goddess of Poverty, and the world is never the same again!
