Gillian Bouras: In Conversation with Dr Helen Vatsikopoulos

The Theatrette, Parliament of NSW
Macquarie St, Sydney

International best-selling Australian-born author, Gillian Bouras (A Foreign WifeA Fair ExchangeAphrodite and the OthersA Stranger HereStarting Again), went to live in a Greek village in 1980, and is still living in Greece. Her books have revealed ‘the upheavals and pleasures of exchanging one home for another’. Once an individual has migrated, their existing identity and relationships are challenged. Perceptions of self and belonging are brought to the fore. Gillian’s journey, sensitively and descriptively recounted in her publications, sets the scene for her conversation with award-winning journalist and academic Helen Vatsikopoulos.
