The Greek Festival of Sydney is holding this prestigious event to recognise the highest-ranking Greek language students in NSW in the presence of family, friends and distinguished guests.

Awards will be presented to the top five NSW Higher School Certificate students and other high-achieving students in Modern and Classical Greek. Proudly hosted by Sydney University.

Soutzouk Loukoum is a comedy by Vasili Tsikaras that follows Dimitri and Ifigenia’s tribulations In their attempts to start a family. The sudden arrival of cheeky Uncle Nikola from the country signals the start of a hilarious journey involving a suspicious magic remedy, an interfering gay neighbour, a bossy mother-in-law, a jealous boyfriend, and Russian temptresses, as the uncle imposes his will while manoeuvring the entire situation into one wild party. Amidst all this mayhem, will Dimitri and Ifigenia succeed in their goal?

Our Own Maria Callas

Our Own Maria Callas is a dramatised documentary, highlighting the Hellenic origins of the great diva of opera. The film concentrates on Callas’ personal history, artistic achievement and her Greek roots. It explores the life of the famous opera singer, interweaving archival footage with new scenes featuring actress Myrto Kamvisidi. Ticket includes pre-film reception with refreshments (from 6.20pm) and Q and A with director Babis Tsokas. Presented in partnership with the Pammessinian United Association of NSW.
